Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine and local operators were recognised as some of the state’s best last night at the 2022 Victorian Tourism Awards.
Hosted by the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), and taking place at Centrepiece in Melbourne, the awards honour business excellence and performance within the industry.
Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine was recognised for its work with the industry as a regional tourism organisation, winning gold in the Tourism Education and Training category and bronze in the Tourism Marketing and Campaigns category.
Fellow gold recipients include the Geelong Gallery, Searoad Ferries, The Woods and Adventure Park.
“We know our tourism industry is a pretty special bunch, and the results at the 2022 Victorian Tourism Awards is just further proof of how incredible our region is,” Tracy Carter, Acting Executive Director Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine said.
“It’s also quite humbling to be recognised for the work we do with the industry and in bringing visitors to the region – we love what we do.”

The Woods- Self Contained Accommodation
Adventure Park- Tourism Attractions

Accessible Accommodation- Excellence in Accessible Tourism
Adventure Park’s Winter Glow Festival- Festivals and Events
Bronze award recipients:
Kardinia Park – Foo Fighters concert presented by Always Live and Frontier Touring- Major Festivals and Events
Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine – Tourism Marketing and Campaigns
Congratulations also go to finalists Splatters Cheese Bar and Blackman’s Brewery.

These latest results at the 2022 Victorian Tourism Awards add to a successful few months for the region, which as of the year-ending June 2022 returned to its pre-pandemic visitor economy worth $1.1 billion and ranked as the most-visited regional Victorian destination.
The 2022 Victorian Tourism Awards were presented by VTIC, in collaboration with Presenting Partner, City of Melbourne, and Platinum Partner, Melbourne Airport.
