A new campaign showcasing the many things to see and do around Geelong and The Bellarine over the cooler months has officially launched. With the tagline ‘Greater Happens Here’, this clever and engaging campaign has been developed by the team at Tourism Greater Geelong & The Bellarine (TGGB).
According to Tracy Carter, Executive Director of TGGB, the new campaign cleverly leverages the existing ‘Greater Than’ campaign and is designed to appeal to both locals and visitors.
“Greater Happens Here showcases the diversity of experiences we have our region during winter, from cosy wineries and welcoming breweries, to live music, creative performances, family friendly attractions, heart-warming winter events and more.”
“It aims to encourage local residents, both long-term and new, to get out and about and discover something new this winter. In turn, they then become advocates for their friends and family, encouraging them to join them on their explorations around the region.”
“The campaign also highlights for locals and visitors that the Geelong they once knew, has well and truly changed. This is an invitation to come and explore a region that has lots of exciting new options on offer.”
“The clever use of language throughout the campaign plays on the Greater theme, demonstrating to locals that Greater is right here in your backyard. Whereas for visitors, it encourages them to visit the region for Greater experiences,” said Ms Carter.
A diversity of local businesses are showcased throughout the campaign including Sober Ramen, Non Disclosure Bar, Blackman’s Brewery, Ceres Distilling Co and The Rock Adventure Centre in Geelong. On The Bellarine, featured businesses include Salt Contemporary Gallery, Portarlington Mussel Tours, Lonsdale Links and the Salty Bitches swimming group at Indented Head, while Clyde Park within the Moorabool Valley is also highlighted. These businesses serve as representatives of the broader tourism offerings in the region, encouraging visitors to start planning and discovering the extensive range of experiences available.
A multi-platform campaign, Greater Happens Here will roll out across digital and social media, shopping centre signage, street posters, billboards and media outlets. It will include a series of short video snippets showcasing winter experiences, GIF style visuals and static imagery.
Developed in partnership with local agency Ruck, the campaign will be in market until the September school holidays. View a collection of the videos here
