This year for the shoulder and off-peak season we’re using offers and deals as part of our Curious is Calling campaign to help drive visits to the region.
Deals will be attached to your business profile and included on our dedicated deals page.
But not all deals are equal. So, what makes a good one? We’ve provided some tips on what makes a good offer, that’s compelling and encourages conversion for consumers.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD DEAL
Your deal should clearly outline the value for consumers and it could be a number of things: it could be a package, a bonus gift or a collaboration with another business. There are several ways to promote your business by offering something enticing and it doesn’t always have to be a discounted price. Often visitors are seeking the best experience possible or they want ease and convenience.
If a deal is confusing, or it’s hard for consumers to calculate the value of what they’re getting, it’s unlikely to encourage much conversion.
Example of great offers:
- A minimum of 10% off your tourism offering or equivalent RRP value
- Stay two nights get your third night free for accommodation
- Buy one get one free admission to experiences
- A free bottle of champagne with a midweek stay
HOW DO YOU DO IT
If you’d like your deal to be considered as part of our Curious is Calling winter ad campaign, you need to list it via one of two methods so it can appear on our website.
You will either be logging into ATDW and adding your deal there or completing a form with us. We’ve outlined these steps further below, but before we get there you’ll need a few other things.
To list your deal, you’ll need to have the following info handy:
- A deal heading (e.g. ‘dine and stay’ or ‘Buy one get one free’)
- A blurb outlining clearly what your offer is to consumers
- Any T&Cs for your deal (blackout periods, eligible products etc)
- At least one image, ideally different from your business profile listing
- A link where consumers can find out more or book the deal
- The start and end dates of your deal
IF YOU HAVE AN ATDW PROFILE
If you’re listed on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) then you’ll need to add your listing via their platform to be attach to your listing.
You can login to ATDW and add your deal here.
IF YOU HAVE A CUSTOM, NON-ATDW PROFILE
Most listings on our website will be this type of listing. You will need to complete a form with us, providing all the details of your deal.
Complete our deals form here.
NOT SURE?
If you’re not sure on your profile type, please reach out to the team on marketing@tourismgeelongbellarine.com.au before completing any forms – so we make sure you do the right one!
WHAT’S NEXT
Once you submit a deal listing, it will take approximately two business days for them to be approved. Please keep in mind for custom, non-ATDW listing, we do these listings manually so they do take some time to complete.
Your deal will then attach to your profile (visible via the ‘deals’ tab) along with appearing on the deals page. If any changes need to be made once they are published, please go back to the original method you published your deal to make edits (e.g. via our form or by logging in to ATDW).
Deals will be selected to be included in our winter ad campaign from this list, with the general advert redirecting to our general deals page. So even if your deal isn’t specifically selected, it will get some attention via this campaign.
