We’re delighted to officially welcome Dana Broekhuizen back to the Meet Geelong & The Bellarine team.
Many of you will already know Dana from her previous time with Team Tourism between 2021 and 2023, where she worked as a Sales & Marketing Executive and played a key role in delivering the State Government’s Business Events Support Campaign and the Meet Great Ocean Road project. During that time, she was instrumental in driving business events lead generation and implementing integrated marketing campaigns across the region.
Dana now returns with even broader experience and a strengthened industry network.
Most recently, she has been working as a Business Development Specialist across Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), leading strategic business development initiatives designed to deliver strong, tangible ROI. In this role, she has collaborated closely with our Meet Geelong team and key stakeholders including Business Events Victoria (BEV) and Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) on bid proposals, client functions, hard-hat tours, and representation at trade shows and industry events.
Driving Growth for Geelong & The Bellarine
In her new role as Business Development Manager, Dana is accountable for the development and implementation of strategies to increase domestic and international travel to the region for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE).
Working closely with the Business Events Manager, she will focus on:

Activating new lead generation opportunities across priority MICE markets

Building strong, trusted relationships across venues and service providers

Coordinating local product to deliver compelling, region-wide solutions for clients

Elevating the reputation and brand of Geelong & The Bellarine as a leading business events destination
Partnerships remain critical to our success, and Dana will continue strengthening relationships across the sector — including with BEV, MCB and the Australian Business Events Association — to ensure our region is consistently represented at the highest level.

Dana brings a global perspective from her years working overseas in events and is passionate about showcasing just how vibrant and dynamic our region can be. With the opening of Nyaal Banyul, Geelong is entering an exciting new era for business events, and Dana’s firsthand understanding of both the venue and the broader destination positions us strongly to attract high-value national conferences and drive year-round visitation.
When she’s not working with conference and event organisers, you might find her paddleboarding along the coast, horse riding, dancing, or planning her next travel adventure — she’s always on the move and always discovering new ways to experience the region.
Dana knows the potential of Geelong and The Bellarine, and she knows the strength and passion of this industry. We’re thrilled to welcome her back and look forward to the energy and expertise she brings to this next chapter.
