Tourism listing scam warning

      Dear industry colleagues,

We are aware that some Victorian tourism operators have recently received an email from “Victoria Tourism” advising that their business listing is due to expire and requires payment.

“Victoria Tourism” is not in any way affiliated with Visit Victoria, the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) or your Regional Tourism Organisation.

ATDW listings are still free for all Victorian tourism businesses.

Visit Victoria would like to remind businesses to carefully look at who is sending these emails and verify the authenticity and authorisation of invoices. Visit Victoria or ATDW will never bill operators up-front for their ATDW listing. ATDW subscribers, when required, will pay for their listing or request an invoice directly through ATDW-Online.

If you have made a payment to “Victoria Tourism”, we would recommend you contact them for a refund and report your experience with Consumer Affairs Victoria.

If you are unsure about the legitimacy of an email you have recieved, please forward it to atdwsupport@visitvictoria.com.au and the team will advise.
