Team Tourism exists to support the industry and serve our members. Usually that’s about promoting the region, growing the market and building your business.
COVID-19 and the need to manage public health has had a devastating impact on your business and our industry. We consider our members – all of you – friends as well as colleagues and we’re heartbroken with what you’re facing.
We know that now, more than ever, we need to band together to navigate this enormous challenge. With this in mind, our board has made some key decisions about our operations to provide support and relief for tourism members to help weather the storm and rebuild afterward. These measures include:
| Membership fees from April to June 2020 have been waived. For those businesses who have already paid in full, this will be provided as a credit or refunded. |
| Free membership from July to December 2020. |
| Membership renewal for the period January 2021 – June 2021 will be delayed until the end of January. |
| Use our industry communications to help members filter the noise and highlight the most useful information for your business (not getting emails, there’s a sign up option here). |
| Adjust our usual training and development seminars to be delivered online, with a focus on topics that are most relevant at this time. |
| Use our visitor communication channels – now, to support businesses still operating and later, to position Geelong and The Bellarine top of mind for when people can travel again. |
These changes are how we’re pivoting and adapting our business to a changed economy. It means we’ll deliver many projects differently, or at different times. We’ll ask you to dip into your pockets less because we know you’re already stretched.
We hope these measures are meaningful and do what they’re intended to do – that is, help our members get through this immediate period and then provide a platform for us to work collectively to help our visitor economy recover when people can once again visit our beautiful region.
