Business Events Geelong was awarded National winner of the Regional Destination Marketing Organisation category at the 2016/2017 Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) Industry Awards on Tuesday, 2 May 2017.
The MEA Industry Awards recognise excellence and best business practice in the meetings & events industry.
This is the third successive year Business Events Geelong has taken out the award on a national level and have now been inducted into the MEA Hall of Fame.
Mark Day, Convention Bureau Manager at Business Events Geelong, is thrilled with the win.
“We will continue to strengthen Geelong and The Bellarine as an inspiring and refreshing place to hold business events,” Mr Day said.
Business Events Geelong is the Convention Bureau to Geelong and The Bellarine, assisting meeting and conference organisers to source venues and suppliers for their next corporate event.
Business Events is the highest yielding sector of the tourism industry and is worth $3.4B to the Victorian Economy.
“This national award recognises the continuous hard work and dedication of the Business Events Geelong team over the past three years,” said Mr Day.
