Flying high as Avalon goes global!

      A 20-year dream realised
Putting the region on the flight map.

With the news that Air Asia will soon be flying international paths out of Avalon Airport, we asked TGGB Executive Director Roger Grant for his thoughts.

“This announcement has the potential to be a ‘game changer’ for our region.

Not only will we see a significant number of visitors – a projected 500,000 in the first 12 months – land at Avalon through the twice daily service, but the fact that Air Asia hubs out of Kuala Lumpur, adds links to another 130 destinations.
This can only highlight the opportunity and attract other interested carriers to also use the airport.”

The desire to have Avalon Airport established as international airport has been featured in every TGGB Tourism strategy for the region, for over 20 years. Now that the dream has become a reality, we must make the most of this exciting opportunity!
